Mould / Fungus Removal
What Causes Moulds/ Fungus
Condensation is the leading cause of growth of molds in blinds, curtains, drapes and nets. Most homes experience build up of molds on curtain linings because it is the part of the curtain that sits the closest to the windows.
Condensation usually occurs on glass windows, as well as on aluminium window frames.
When the curtain touches the window or door frame it instantly gets wet… and has very little chance to dry out before the condensation reappears at night time each night.
Even if you are careful to make sure the curtains don’t touch the window, they are still close enough for the dampness to transfer across from the window pane to the curtain, as the air between the two is damp (Certainly not dry). One important point to keep in mind is the health risks that exist with mold. If you leave that mold on the lining of the curtain over summer, the mold spores will dry out and flick off the curtain when a breeze blows and fly around the room, down into the carpet (like dust), and into your kids nose and mouth while they sleep. Not healthy!
